NAC 2015: Future Histories, Now Open for Submissions

The eighth National Art Competition, Future Histories is now open for submissions.

In its eight-year span, the National Art Competition has showcased emerging talent in such diverse mediums as painting, sculpture, photography, mixed media, installation, and video art.  This year’s theme Future Histories will encourages artists to think laterally about the social, political, and cultural climate of their local communities whilst exploring their terra incognita art practice.

A creative production of how art explores both the imaginary and the inevitable elements of the future while maintaining its innate quality of documentation and foresight. 

The competition includes a cash prize of two million Naira for the first place winner and provides the artists national and international exposure and exhibition opportunities and cash prize totaling two million naira for both second and third place winners.

Interested applicants are to send in a write up with a sketch and a short plan of their interpretation of the theme. Only PROPOSALS will be accepted. This year’s competition to open to all mediums.

Terms of participation 

All entries remain the intellectual property of the designer.

There is no entry fee.

All entries are automatically signed up to the AAF mailing list. 

Plagiarised work will be disqualified.
