Join African Artists Foundation and the University of Nsukka on June 23 from 11:00 am to 2:00pm for a commemorative round table that spans the growth of art in Nigeria, the legacy of the last 56 years and the bright students that are the future of the field.
At 56, the story of the Department of Fine and Applied Arts is co-eval with the story of the University of Nigeria. It is long, ambitious and inspiring. If jubille is that where we are able to begin again, the story affors us the opportunity to reflect on out achievement and face up to the future with superlative optimism. Any wonder we have themed this celebration Nkoli Ka (Recalling is Greatest) ? IN the words of Achebe, "It is the story that outlives the sound of war drums and the exploits of brave fighters..... The story is our escort, without it, we are blind"
