The African Artists Foundation Arts Journal will both provide a vehicle for educating the general public about the wealth of arts offerings in the region as well as play a vital role in uniting and informing the greater African arts community. Each issue will feature a retrospective of the work of a celebrated African artist, a profile on the AAF New Artist of the Month, reviews of regional exhibits and a guide to upcoming regional arts events. Additionally, artists will find a listing of educational opportunities offered by the AAF and others, upcoming local, national and international competitions and scholarship opportunities.

With the assistance of advertising and commercial sponsorship, the goal of the Arts Journal is to grow from a quarterly publication to a self-supporting monthly journal.
