As the Resident Artistic Organization in the new Lagos Civic Centre, the African Artists' Foundation sponsors a major exhibition of a Nigerian Master Artist in the Civic Centre each quarter. This major exhibition featuring world-class artists provides an unparalleled opportunity to support the promotion of public health and the cultural vitality of the logos community in a high visibility and memorable way.
The exhibition opening includes live music, entertainment and discussions with the artist and curator. The exhibit opening is an opportunity for the Lagos community to come together to celebrate uniquely Nigerian talent. Each exhibition lasts a full week and school groups also get the opportunity to see the exhibits.
Planned exhibits will involve collaborate exchanges with major art galleries and museums in Europe and the United States. The African Artists' Foundation has already established relations with some of these cooperating arts institutions and more will be cultivated. At the Civic Centre the work of Nigerian Artists will be displayed side by side with work of renowned artists from across the globe whose work was influenced by African Art.
Proceeds from the exhibitions fund African Artists' Foundation public health initiatives, providing healthcare and health education to both Nigerian artists and the public at large.
